About our founder

Liz Kelly (she/her) is the owner and founder of Mother Luna.  Her own motherhood journey, with its many ups and down, inspired her to provide a nurturing space for mothers.

After having her first child, Liz found a mother support group – a safe place where mamas could laugh, cry, and navigate the early days of motherhood.  Her second pregnancy and postpartum experience were very different from the first.  Her second son was born with a brain disorder called Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum.  A month after his birth, Liz ended up in the hospital with postpartum anxiety.  She was then lucky to find a postpartum therapist who, like the support group, gave her the safe space she needed.

Even though she had her husband’s and mother’s incredible support, she believes motherhood would look very different if it wasn’t for the perinatal experts she encountered along the way – her birth doula, the women in the new mom support group, and her postpartum therapist.

This is why Liz is bringing all these experts together under one roof. – so mothers can have a nurturing space to go to, to cry, laugh, and feel supported by caring experts.

Liz has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Education. She has been an early childhood educator for many years, with experience teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, ELL, and nature-based parent & me classes. She is also currently serving on a board of a local nonprofit.
